To reflect and… act.

The difference between the poor and rich nations is not the age of the Nation.

This can be demonstrated by countries like India and Egypt, which are more than
2000 years old and are still poor countries.

On the other hand, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, which 150 years back were insignificant, today are developed and rich countries.

The difference between the poor and rich nation does not also depend on the available natural resources.

Japan has limited territory, 80% mountainous, unsuitable for agriculture or farming, but is the second in worlds economy. The country is like an immense floating factory, importing raw material from the whole world and exporting manufactured products.

Second example is Switzerland, it does not grow cocoa but produces the best chocolates in the world. In her small territory she rears animals and cultivates the land only for four month in a year, nevertheless manufactures the best milk products. A small country which is an image of security which has made it the strongest world bank.

Executives from rich countries who interact with their counterparts from poor countries show no significant intellectual differences.

The racial or colour factors also do not evince importance: migrants heavy in laziness in their country of origin are forcefully productive in rich European countries.

What then is the difference?

The difference is the attitude of the people, moulded for many years by education and culture.

When we analyse the conduct of the people from the rich and developed countries, it is observed that a majority abide by the following principles of life:

1. Ethics, as basic principles.
2. Integrity.
3. Responsibility.
4. The respect for Laws and Regulations.
5. The respect from majority of citizens by right.
6. The love for work.
7. The effort to save and invest.
8. The will to be productive.
9. Punctuality.

In the poor countries a small minority follow these basic principles in their daily life.

We are not poor because we lack natural resources or because nature was cruel towards us.

We are poor because we lack attitude. We lack the will to follow and teach these principles of working of rich and developed societies.

WE ARE IN THIS STATE BECAUSE
WE WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OVER
EVRYTHING AND EVERYONE.

WE ARE IN THIS STATE BECAUSE
WE SEE SOMETHING DONE WRONG
AND SAY – “LET IT BE”
WE SHOULD HAVE A SPIRITED MEMORY
AND ATTITUDE…

ONLY THEN WILL WE BE ABLE TO CHANGE OUR PRESENT STATE.

Funny is the word which aptly fits the antics and tantrums the Government of India, throws, on trivialities. A film actor, was detained at New York airport sometimes back and this time in April, 2012, at an airport close to New York.. The Government has called the film artist a VIP, who according to it, literally should have the run of any country. I thought I should look up as to what the VIP as in the Indian senses stands for. I found the following interesting interpretations of the word;

(We are not sure in which of the above VIP categories does this film actor fit. But definitely it is not the first and the last…Editors)
 A film artist waiting for 75 minutes, at the airport, for his clearance, and it appeared to the Government of India, as if Heaven had fallen. Incidentally, neither his work, nor his job exposes him to any security threat or any danger to his life. Suddenly, how a person working in film industry becomes a VVVVVIP, when there are umpteen number of businessmen, industrialists, builders or civil servants doing much more important work?

How has he suddenly become a VIP in the eyes of the Government of India, which has gone overboard to take up his case of some 75 minutes delay for entry into USA?

Where ever I have gone abroad, I have scrupulously avoided going even near the Indian Embassy, because the impression, with a few exceptions, all Embassies give is that if you have any problem, solve yourself or go to hell on your own.

Except for an unhelpful and rarely helpful receptionist, you cannot get past him or her to see or speak to somebody higher in the hierarchy in the missions.

Incidentally, when you go to other countries, you have to follow their procedures. Has any body ever checked as to how long it takes to enter our country, even with a valid visa and how long it takes Indians on Indian Passport to clear all the formalities, even in India?

Why are we paranoid about the position we hold? In this Government is guilty of pampering the film artist.

To show that the person in question is an International Celebrity is a travesty of the facts. He may be known in India or where Indian Population lives. But if I were to ask, anybody as to who is the top Hero or Heroine Of USA or UK or France, or Pakistan, or Sri Lanka or Malaysia or Thailand, or of other countries, answer would be a fumble or I do not know.

Every country is free to adopt any system to safeguard its security, and if it does not suit anybody, he or she need not visit those States or Nations. The External Affairs Ministry has patted its back, that its officials got him cleared in 75 Minutes!

It is a shame, that Indian Authorities, would go to this extent to help a film artist, where as I am aware of the facts, how Indians abroad are harassed abroad by the same missions. In one case, an Indian in Canada, who wanted to visit India, to see his ailing mother was denied visa, despite my pointing it to the External Affairs Minister.

What point is the Ministry trying to prove is not clear? Does it want to convey that it takes up the causes of every Indian or of a select group or community or religion?

It appears that instead of serving all the Indians, Indian Missions are out only to rescue a select group or type of people.

What is wrong, if before the entry to USA, its officials wish to verify the credentials of the visitors or people going out? I myself have faced this problem in our own country, as name Joginder Singh is Common to all types of criminals including terrorists or wanted people. I have patiently waited till I am cleared.

If the name of the film artist is similar to any terrorists, it is natural for the USA to have verified it. It is because, of the stringent security measures, that USA has not allowed, any terrorist incident to take place, in that country, after 9/11. On the contrary, terrorists have struck at will, in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Bangalore and many other places, because of either no policy or policy of willing to strike but afraid to wound.

It was decent of USA to have apologized, for any inconvenience caused, to the film artist. But it was not really called for, nor is justified, as a courtesy.

USA has denied religious profiling. Even if it was done, there is nothing wrong with it, as most of the terrorist attacks are led by the Muslims.

(As a matter of fact 29 out of 30 Most Wanted Terrorists by FBI and all of Most Wanted 50 Terrorists of India are Muslims. All terrorists listed in Reward for Justice program of USA (around 50) are Muslims. They are not merely Muslims, but those who claim that they are indulging in such acts as per inspiration of their Holy Book and to establish their religion as only religion of world….Editors)

I have seen in the Middle East Muslim countries, very carefully scrutinizing the entrants to their country from Pakistan, for the same reason. It is as much the Right of USA as of India, to regulate the entry of anybody to their country, whether it suits somebody or not.

When in Commerce Ministry, the Secretary of the Ministry had his tale of woe, while leaving India. He told me that every time, he went abroad, he was questioned and his antecedents checked. So to ward off, any such contingency he would write clearly, on the departure and arrival form, as Avtar Singh Gill, IAS, Secretary Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. He said that he had to do as a number of Sikh Terrorists had the name of Avtar Singh.

Sometimes we have to pay for the sins of our namesakes, and best is to bear and grin, as George Fernandez and Former President APJ Kalam did. If India is slack in controlling the ingress of the terrorists, as the numerous attacks by them have shown, , as well as by Maoists and Naxalites shown, why should we expect USA to follow, what we are doing or not doing. We should not try to appease any body as Churchil rightly said; “An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile —- hoping it will eat him last”.

I can only say that Government should introspect and assess, whether it was worth it to make so much fuss, on a Non VIP and a film artist, who speaks the lines written and thought of by others.

The English language has some wonderfully anthropomorphic collective nouns for the various groups of animals.

We are all familiar with a Herd of cows, a Flock of chickens, a School of fish and a Gaggle of geese.

However, less widely known is a Pride of lions, a Murder of crows (as well as their cousins the rooks and ravens), an Exaltation of doves and, presumably, because they look so wise, a Parliament of owls.

Now consider a gathering of Baboons. They are the loudest, most dangerous, most obnoxious, most viciously aggressive and least intelligent of all primates.

And what is the proper collective noun for a group of baboons?

Believe it or not ……. a Congress!

I guess that pretty much explains the things that come out of our present government led by a party by that name, which has ruled our country for most of the 65 years since the British left us in their hands!

Today is a historic day for India. After 12 days of going without any food, Anna Hazare managed to get the govt to agree to some of his demands. The provisions of the proposed Jan Lokpal bill are to be considered by the Parliament, having been agreed in principle in initial debates.

Having said that, i have been following some of the debates over the past many days, and have been left somewhat befuddled. It has been a widespread refrain of many of the intelligentsia who oppose Anna’s movement, calling it undemocratic, unnecessary, even an unconstitutional farce.

This happened during Anna’s first movement as well. I remember the cynical comments then, and had said at that time that we need a movement to get India rid of cynicism, before we can do anything about corruption. The cynicism turned to derision this time around, with taunts about Anna’s blackmail tactics.

Which makes me wonder what exactly is Democracy? What is Constitutional? How do you make your voice heard in a Democratic setup?

Abraham Lincoln once famously summarised it as “ Democracy is the government of the people, by the people, for thepeople.” Let’s go with that.

Government of the people

Does the common Indian man identify with his voted representative anymore? Can he approach him to find out about the representative’s plans for his welfare? Do these representatives have to slug it out for basics everyday, ever? No.

Is it a government of the people if it isn’t coming out of the pool to which the common man belongs? The common man’s voice can no more enter the fancy bungalows inhabited by the people representing him in the seats of power.

Is the Indian government working for me? Can i hold it accountable for any of the scams that keep occurring with increasing regularity? Would it tell me why prices keep going up? Would it tell me why we let food grain rot while millions live in penury? Would it tell me why potbellied babus run sports federations like personal fiefdoms, while we continue to be an embarrassment in international events?

Government by the people?

Did we really elect this government? Did we ask for A Raja to be made telecom minister and create one of the biggest scams we have ever seen? Did we ask for Sharad Pawar to be made a union minister? Did we even vote for Manmohan Singh? Not quite. The current PM didnt even stand for election, but entered the Parliament via the Rajya Sabha and was made the head of state.

Our govt is not one we asked for. We vote for individual MPs, not for ministers. Certainly not for the PM. Was the current PM getting his post constitutional? Technically it was, you would say. But was it in keeping with the spirit of democracy? No?

So on all three counts from Abraham Lincoln’s criteria, our democracy would appear to be working only in name, but not in spirit. Farcical?

The pundits keep pointing to the power of the vote, and how it is the only instrument available to reform the country. But that’s not accurate. A vote should not be an event that happens once in five years and be forgotten till the next available chance. Even a DVD player comes with an exchange policy, then why not the government? In the absence of a continuous evaluation for our elected reps, what stops them from abusing their powers for 4.5 years, then come up with a few populist schemes in the last 6 months to get our vote again. The indian voter does have a short memory, as oft noted.

And then our elections seem to get settled by promised freebies such as mixer-grinders, rather than intelligent debates about policy and development. Where is the chance for reform if elections are settled by monetary muscle, often at the ultimate cost of the taxpayer?

To contribute to the mess, if a party gets an absolute majority it can be ruthless and get away with anything it wants. On the other hand, if it turns out to be a coalition such as the UPA, the ruling parties are tied by what are called the compulsions of coalition politics, and petty regional parties are able to blackmail the government for their benefit. Which evil do you choose?

Absolute power corrupts absolutely, as a wise man once said. Unless there is clear accountability and transparency of public officials, Democracy cannot work optimally. Which is where institutions such as the Lokpal can come in to play the role of that vital safeguard.

What is good for democracy is clearly not good for the ones abusing their powers. Obviously the government is scared.

If only the British had come up with the idea of thwarting the Indian freedom movement by declaring it unconstitutional and undemocratic, Prince William would have been OUR prince today. And Kate Middleton our bahu.

These old animals hang on to power and be intimidated than make way for the younger and dynamic people. This is the fate of this country.

Yet, if you are an observer of Indian politics, as I have been, since I landed back in India in the early ’Sixties, you have to come to the conclusion that most of the funds of scams end up in the coffers of political parties, particularly of the Congress. Today the DMK is taking the brunt of the blame, but actually political parties have been forced to follow suit after the grand old party of India’s independence, began using percentages allotted by foreign companies on mega deals, military and otherwise, to secretly fund its election campaigns and give freebies to poor villagers.

Of course, Bofors was the first one of the big scams to be uncovered. I remember in the mid-Eighties a Swiss radio colleague of mine from Radio Suisse Romande, telling me that Amitabh Bachchan’s brother, Ajitabh, (when the Bachchan family was still close to the Gandhis), was one of the first safe keepers of the kickbacks of the Swedish canon makers.

Exposes of Swedish newspaper, Dagens Nhyeter further confirmed it, though Ajitabh went to court against them. There is no doubt, further says my Swiss friend, that part of the Bofors money is still in Switzerland.

Indeed, we are all waiting for the Swiss banks to reveal (under US pressure) the names of all the dictators, thieves, dishonest rulers of so many countries in the world, who have stashed their ill-gotten money in UBS bank or Credit Suisse.

Meanwhile, all roads seem to lead to Sonia Gandhi: she is the first Lady of India, although she is a simple MP like hundreds of others, the ultimate arbiter, and nothing of importance is decided without her caveat.

The immense power she wields within the Congress cannot be only due to her charisma, of her having the Gandhi name or having brought cohesion in the Congress.

It is also, and perhaps mainly, because she holds the purse strings of tremendous amounts of money. These party funds are overt: all the foundations, Rajiv, Indira, Nehru, etc, which store thousands of crores; and covert, starting with the Bofors scam.

Where are the secret bank accounts where the scam money is stored?

Under whose names are they operated?

How is the money brought back to India?

Who will answer all these questions?

We know that Quattrochi, the man who could have spilt the beans, was shamelessly let off the hook, not only by the CBI which today is conducting — two years late — the investigation on the 2G scam, but also by the then law minister who is today the governor who pretends to be after corruption in Karnataka!

Not only was Quattrochi spared, but was allowed to take the money he had looted from India and which was frozen in British banks, so that he would not talk.

Will Raja talk, if he is arrested, as it is rumoured? Surely he knows a lot of secrets, as some of the 2G, Adarsh CWG money, and other unknown scams, must also have gone into the Congress coffers.

That is the question that the Congress leadership should debate instead of going after ‘Hindu terror’, a misnomer if there is one. If you look at statistics for the last 1,000 years, it is Hindus who have been at the receiving end of terror —

millions of them have died, including in Kashmir in the late ’Eighties, when Benazir Bhutto launched her ‘Azad Kashmir’ movement (I was there). Yet Sonia Gandhi remains a mystery for many of us, even for me who has known her for a long time.  I found her quite likable when she was just Rajiv Gandhi’s (the Fake pilot) spouse,

a loving wife, who had adopted the Indian way of life; a good daughter -in-law: Indira Gandhi died on her lap on the way to the hospital, after being shot by her Sikh bodyguards; and more than everything, a good mother, who doted on her children and tried all her life to protect them.

I then knew that she had kept her Italian passport, even after taking the Indian nationality (India does not allow you to hold two passports), but I have met quite a few foreigners in Delhi who also retained their origin passports after having obtained the Indian one.

I myself toyed for some time with the idea of taking the Indian nationality, as I speak Hindi quite fluently, but it is too difficult to travel with an Indian passport.

I do not mind also her remaining a Christian: after all,  Indeed, one of my Italian journalist friends told me that he prayed with her, along with Rajiv Gandhi, at a mass in Calicut with the bishop officiating —

that is her private business. But after her husband was blown to pieces by the LTTE, I observed a drastic change in her: she did not seem to trust anybody anymore, became aloof and suspicious.

I also watched with dismay how the Congress leaders, some of them men and women of substance, whom I knew personally, applied pressure on her to enter politics for years.

Furthermore, I thought that in her fortress of Janpath, surrounded twenty-four hours by security, she gradually lost touch with the reality of India.

Despite the fact that I met her a few times after Rajiv’s death, I thus took discreetly my distances with her. It is then that I came up with my famous phrase on Sonia, for which she never forgave me:

“the moribund and leaderless Congress party has latched on to Sonia Gandhi who is Italian by birth and Roman Catholic by baptism”.

Like Sonia Gandhi, I have lived in India many years and I have adopted this country as my own.

But the comparison ends there. I did land in India with a certain amount of prejudices, clichés and false ideas, and I did think in the enthusiasm of my youth to become a missionary to bring back Indian ‘pagans’ to the ‘true god’.

But the moment I stepped in India I felt that there was nothing much that I could give to India, rather it was India which was bestowing me.

In fact in all my years here India has given me so much — professionally, spiritually, sentimentally. Most Westerners, who come here, still think they are here to ‘give’ something to a country, which, unconsciously of course, they think is lesser than theirs. It was true of the British, it was true of Mother Teresa, it is true of Sonia Gandhi. It is a fact that Sonia brought discipline, order and cohesion into the Indian National Congress.

But the amount of power that she, a person of foreign origin, an elected MP like hundreds of others, possesses should frighten her. All the television channels report without a blink that Maharashtra CM rushes to Delhi to meet Sonia Gandhi to plead for his life.

But should not Chavan have gone to the prime minister first? The CBI blatantly and shamelessly quashed all injunctions against Ottavio Quattrocchi and even allowed him to get away with billions of rupees which he had stolen from India.

Yet, without batting an eyelid, and with the Indian media turning a blind eye, it goes ruthlessly after the chief minister of the most efficiently run state, the most corruption free.

Today the Congress, with Sonia’s overt or silent consent, pays crores of rupees to buy MPs to topple non-Congress governments.

Her governors shamelessly hijack democracy by twisting the law. Are Indians aware that their country has entered a state of semi-autocracy where every important decision comes from a single individual residing in her fortress of 10 Janpath surrounded by dozens of security men, an empress of India?

Do they know that the huge amounts of the scams, whether the 2G, the CWG, or the Adarsh housing society scam, do not go into politicians’ pockets (only a fraction), but to the coffers of the Congress for the next general elections, and more than anything to please Sonia Gandhi?

Nobody seems to notice what is happening under the reign of Sonia Gandhi.

That an Arundhati Roy is allowed to preach secession in India, whereas on the other hand the Congress government has been going after the army, the last body in India to uphold the time-honoured values of the Kshatriyas — courage, honour, devotion to the Motherland.

They alone today practise true secularism, never differentiating between a Muslim or Hindu soldier and who for a pittance daily give their lives to their country.

First it was the attempt of a caste census, a divide-and-rule ploy if there is one; then there are the first signs that the government is thinking about thinning down the presence of the Indian army in the Kashmir valley, which will suit Pakistan perfectly.

And now there is the Adarsh housing society scam in which the army officers, at the worst, were innocently dragged into it. We know now that it was the politicians of the Congress who benefited the most out of it.

It would be impossible in France, for example, to have a non-Christian tell a Hindu (who is a non-elected president or PM) to be the absolute ruler of the country behind the scenes, superseding even the PM.

There are many capable people in the Congress. Why can’t a billion Indians find one of their own, who will understand the complexity and subtlety of India, to govern themselves? Not only that, but her very presence at the top has unleashed forces, visible and invisible that are detrimental to the country.

There is nothing wrong in espousing the best of the values of the West — democracy, technological perfection, higher standards of living — but many of the institutions are crumbling in the West: two out of three marriages end in divorce, kids shoot each other, parents are not cared for in their old age, depression is rampant and Westerners are actually looking for answers elsewhere, in India notably.

One does not understand this craze to Westernise India at all costs, while discarding its ancient values.

Sonia Gandhi should do well to remember that there still are 850 million Hindus in India, a billion worldwide and that whatever good inputs were brought by different invasions, it is the ancient values of spirituality behind Hinduism which have made India so special and which gives it today unique qualities making an Indian Christian different from an American Christian, or an Indian Muslim different from a Saudi Muslim.

It is an insult to these tolerant Hindus to show United States President Barack Husain Obama as his first input of the Indian capital the tomb of Humayun, a man who slaughtered Hindus in thousands, taking Hindu women and children as captives.

He even subjected his elder brother Kamran to brutal torture, gauging his eyes out and pouring lemon into them. The tragedy of India is that it was colonised for too long.

And unlike China, it always looks to the West for a solution to its problems. Sonia Gandhi, whatever her qualities, is just an incarnation of that hangover, an empress of India in new clothes.

When Swiss Bank opened its vault of loot money for return, Congress party in India lost all hopes of coming back to power by democratic means in 2014 and tactically decided to delay it as much as possible to enable all its corrupt friends to choose escape roots before it is forced to declare the loot money as national asset.

Let’s change the tune on official multiculturalism

 

About one dozen families who
recently immigrated to Canada are demanding that the Louis Riel School Division
in Winnipeg excuse their children from music and coed physical education
programs for religious reasons.

The families believe that music is
un-Islamic – just like the Taliban believe and then imposed on the entire
population of Afghanistan – and that physical education classes should be
segregated by gender even in the elementary years….

 

In any event, the school
district is trying to find a way to adapt the curriculum to fit the wishes of
these families, rather than these families adapting to fit into the school and
Canadian culture.

Mahfooz Kanwar, a member of the Muslim Canadian
Congress, says he has some better ideas.

“I’d tell them, this is Canada,
and in Canada, we teach music and physical education in our schools. If you
don’t like it, leave. If you want to live under sharia law, go back to the
hellhole country you came from or go to another hellhole country that lives
under sharia law,” said Kanwar, who is a professor emeritus of sociology at
Mount Royal University in Calgary.

That might be putting things a little
more forcefully than most of us would be comfortable with, but Kanwar says he is
tired of hearing about such out-of-tune demands from newcomers to our country.
“Immigrants to Canada should adjust to Canada, not the other way
around,” he argues….

U.S. Fails To Secure Flight Schools

Nearly a decade after terrorists crashed planes into the World Trade Center and Pentagon how could the U.S. government permit an illegal immigrant to obtain a pilot’s license and run a school that trains dozens of foreigners to fly small aircraft?

 

The question is directed at the Homeland Security agency responsible for scrutinizing all foreign flight students before they can take lessons or get a pilot’s license in the U.S. Here’s a hint; the agency was created after 9/11 specifically to prevent another terrorist attack by protecting the nation’s transportation system, especially aviation. It’s the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

 

A few months ago a news report alerted TSA officials that a flight school in Stow Massachusetts, a rural community about 25 miles west of Boston, was operated by an illegal immigrant who somehow got a U.S. pilot’s license. Enrolled in the school (TJ Aviation Flight Academy) were more than 30 illegal aliens who were actually cleared by the TSA to train as pilots. Several of them had entered the U.S. legally but their visas expired, just like several of the 9/11 hijackers.

Many have been deported but the TSA has failed to implement any security controls to prevent a similar atrocity, though the agency is working “to refine the process for checking the immigration status of alien flight school students,” according to a spokesman quoted in a Boston newspaper this week. The story reveals that Homeland Security officials have not instituted new safeguards to stop other flight schools from enrolling illegal immigrants who could present national security threats.

Pilots are actually licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), but the agency relies on the TSA for criminal and immigration background checks. FAA officials claim that they don’t have the legal authority to revoke a pilot’s license for being in the country illegally, indicating that government bureaucracy is playing a role in the inexcusable security lapses.

 

The TSA, which has 55,000 employees, has compromised the nation’s security on many occasions and its lapses have been well documented over the years. The agency approved background checks for illegal immigrants to work in sensitive areas of busy airports, violated federal standards by not screening cargo and passengers on hundreds of thousands of planes that fly over the U.S. annually and allowed guns and bombs to slip by at major U.S. airports during random tests.

 

A few months ago inept screeners missed a suitcase filled with explosives that blasted after a three-hour domestic flight. Checked on a flight from Boston to Miami, the bag contained hundreds of bullet primers that exploded on the tarmac after the plane arrived in south Florida. Primers provide the spark that detonates the gunpowder in bullets.

 

In the meantime tax dollars keep pouring into TSA coffers. President Obama has given the agency more than $3 billion in recovery funds—including $98 million for “advanced technology X-ray units” that screen baggage—and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano wants Congress to increase its 2012 budget by $459 million to a whopping $8.1 billion.

His agenda was clear and he achieved it. To get jobs for Americans. How? He got one of the Indian airlines to promise that they would buy few Boeing planes-thereby the Boeing factory and its office in America will create many jobs! Same with the defence equipments.

 And yet same with opening up Bharat’s core sectors to America like Agriculture, Education, and Retail. Without seeing how William Colgate looked like, without knowing what all goes in their toothpaste, Bharat has been giving that company trillions of dollars by buying their tubes, without knowing who exactly Mr Procter or Mr Gamble were Bharat has been buying Head and Shoulders shampoos made by them without verifying their claims.

WHEN Barack Hussein Obama became the President of America, irrespective of his religious background many people – even me – felt that new world order has place for all those who work hard and mean well.

 Both countries with which his childhood was associated – Kenya and Indonesia – had and have their own serious problems regarding progress of people. Many earlier generation people in Bharat did recall Kenya’s vicious ethnic cleansing where millions of Indians had to flee leaving their belongings back.

 Indonesia is no different even today. But seeing that this young man President Obama spoke of the things that not only every American, but also every Indian would like to hear – change, bringing the world together, hope etc, many like me thought that this new America might be congenial to Bharat.

 It was – in the beginning, when the USA offered Bharat nuke tech. But then came those fine prints as well, where they seeming shrugged off their responsibility towards any civil damage due to their nuke tech. Bharat shivered. Union Carbide disaster is still fresh in many people’s lives in Bharat.

 But yet President Obama harped on hope and Bharat hoped against hope that his hope may not be that hopeless. One example cannot be a rule – so Bharat waited for the best treatment from America from this Harvard Law graduate who came up in life against all odds. His credentials were shining and his election speeches as well as his victory speeches were impressing the world.

And there was the catch. Mere rhetoric can never be the fact. American craving for change was for various other reasons that may not be Bharat specific. So also that was the first time that rather than condemning jehad and jehadi nations or criticising the opposite party, this young man had blamed Bharat for America’s economic problems.

 Even in his election speeches and then in his victory speeches he blamed American companies outsourcing to Bharat and our Hi-Tech industry for the job slump in his country. When pockets pinch, such words sound great and so they did – to America.

In my earlier article on this topic (American Economy Upside Down) we saw in details how wrong his fuzzy math was in this issue.

 Bharat’s IT industry (which in American lingo is called Hi-Tech) was furious when they were squarely boycotted by Ohio state and the President himself kept degrading the industry and even mentioning Bengaluru in a bad way! Yet when he was to visit Bharat, all well meaning people thought that something meaningful would come out of his visit.

Here comes the issue of credentials and credibility. Shouting from the roof-top that we are largest democracies in the world is OK for oratory skills (any child in a debating competition has that) but fuzzy fiscals and frivolous adjectives do not make and build nations.

 His agenda was clear and he achieved it. To get jobs for Americans. How? If Boeing could not manage their labour issues, production problems and marketing matters than how is Bharat responsible for Americans losing jobs in Boeing? It was Boeing America’s failure to manage their company at their end and President blamed Bengaluru for that.

It was not Bharat that forced Boeing to set up factories at Nagpur in a five star industrial estate or in Bengaluru to make their plane’s doors and their handles! It was Boeing mismanagement in America that made them shut HQ in Seattle and run away to Chicago and subsequently to start manufacturing in Bharat for lower labour costs.

 They saved big bucks by doing it, Mr President. So now there is no reason for punishing Bharat and forcing an Indian company to buy less leg space, not liked by Boeing passenger just because the President promised America that he would create 50,000 jobs for Americans!

 What about trillions of dollars that were saved and made by paying lower to Indian labour? Calculate the difference in wages of American Boeing labour and Indian labour – would President Obama pay to each and every labourer that differential?

Worse affected would be agriculture sector of Bharat if Bharat opens this sector to America. Bharat has already been facing severe crisis regarding land damage, water contamination, crop disasters and fast deteriorating land quality due to America’s BT dirt, chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

 Instead of following Bharat’s traditional agricultural practices (that enhanced crop productivity with low water usage) adding to them apt indigenous technology, Bharat is being forced into America’s faulty agriculture styles. If they had so great agro-systems, then why their vast farms are not producing enough jobs for Americans?

Why they need super stores like COSCO to dump substandard grains, fruits and vegetables cheaper on to consumers?

Many of us with whose ideology, our learned finance expert PM does not agree, too wowed our PM’s upright and accurate stand when he snapped at President Obama – “India is not in the business of stealing jobs” or when he said clearly, “No talks with Pakistan while the terror machine there is still on.

” We all are now hoping that since our PM is from Punjab, he would see the intrinsic danger in opening agriculture sector to America!

I am not even referring to the large number of cancer patients in certain areas of Bharat due to BT crop’s demonic hunger for strong pesticides! But we must save Bharat’s land, water quality and not allow America to throw splashy words like ‘evergreen revolution’ and eat up the only few great natural resources we are left with – our fertile land, quality water and of course the traditional wisdom of our farmer!

Same is the case of education sector. Indian students mainly go to America for American jobs and to settle there or to make big bucks. There are few exceptions to this, I am aware, who go there to study some tech. But mostly it is a distant American dream that gets our students there.

 For years students from Bharat have subsidised American students by paying almost double the fees than their American counterparts. Now opening education sector of America in Bharat would be disastrous to the very core of Bharat. As it is the history is being distorted by the so-called high credentials – low credibility vote-monger politicians.

 Now with American educational institutions coming into Bharat would kill our IITs, IIMs and the small-medium schools, colleges that are doing great work in the rural and semi-urban areas. Discarding and degrading all that is in Bharat from ancient times, has become a fashion these days – limit this tendency to this level only.

 But if that becomes a norm, then Bharat would stand up against it united.

With supermarkets and sparkling malls, Bharat’s corner store is still surviving. But if the retail sector is opened up for America then Wal-mart, COSCO, PayLess, etc will eat up Bharat’s strong retails and distribution networks like pests.

 Let us ask the basic question: Do we really need all this? What do they have that we don’t? Their consumer is buying less now due to less cash and restrictions on plastic money! So, dump their goods in Bharat? Make Bharat buy things that are not needed and in the monstrous quantities to enhance the volume game of American companies through coupons and other luring gimmicks? Bharat’s core economics do not permit such fuzzy fiscals.

 It will hurt Bharat’s middle class that is truly reeling under price hikes. So hope that our learned finance man PM would see through this dirty American design and do not let Bharat succumb to America’s marketing monsters.

Defence sector is a critical area and its sensitivity is ‘non-tradable’ for any technological help from anyone. We pay you and yet you access all our secrets – will no more happen.

 Bharat will not let it happen – not even with the carrot of UNSC seat. Bharat is bound to get it – with her own strength. Bharat is diplomatically strong enough to garner support for it. Bharat would be proud to get UNSC seat not as alms from a super beggar, but with her own superior diplomatic skills.

So, however great academic and social credentials anyone has, when it comes to credibility, Bharat’s common man has very strict standards. As a guest, President Obama is respected; but as a super salesman, Bharat does not need his goodies as his credibility as a representative of his nation that helps Pak despite jehadi attacks on Bharat, is all time low.

A recent article published in The Tennessean mulled about the legitimacy of Islam as a religion in relation to the disputed mosque in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, but never defined either “legitimate” or “religion” so came to fatally flawed conclusions.

The word “legitimate” has several relevant meanings, one of them being “according to law.” Every fundamental of Islam stands diametrically opposed to the supreme law of the land, our Constitution:

Islam opposes separation of church and state; the First Amendment of the Constitution requires it.

Islam seeks to eradicate freedom of religion; the First Amendment defends it.

Islam suppresses freedom of speech; our First Amendment guarantees it.

Islam strips man of the right to trial by jury, due process, and freedom from self-incrimination; our nation’s forefathers bled and died to preserve these precious rights, memorialized in our Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Amendments.

Islam commands cruel and unusual punishments; our Eighth Amendment forbids them.

Islam proclaims all men slaves to Allah and to Islamic leaders; our supreme law abolished slavery and involuntary servitude with the Fourteenth Amendment.

In short, Islam is the single most authoritarian, oppressive, and consummate enemy to our cherished God-given rights and freedoms, guaranteed by our Constitution, that this nation has ever faced.

That is not a “religion;” that is a political totalitarianism whose ultimate stated goal is to wipe actual religion from the face of the Earth, and make every knee bow to Islamic hegemony and to Islam alone. Islamic imperialism is infinitely more dangerous than Nazism and Communism combined. Nazism was defeated in less than twenty years of its creation, and Communism was in power less than 70 years, but Islamic imperialism and hegemony has been with us 1,400 years and has consumed innumerable nations, cultures, and civilizations.

Islam does not recognize Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Sikhism, or Taoism to be legitimate religions, and it considers Judaism and Christianity to be failed, imperfect, and corrupt religions—even though they all predate Islam, and themselves defined the very concept of “religion.” Such is the arrogance of Islam’s worldview of its own supremacy.

The word “religion,” according to Cicero, comes from relegare, “go through again, read again,” and “consider carefully,” and it correctly implies strongly a bond to the collected wisdom of man about his relation to a supreme being and the universe, and his responsibility to his fellow man. This tradition of religious wisdom goes back thousands of years in many civilizations worldwide.

Islam contributed no such wisdom to mankind. Its purported religious wisdom was plagiarized from the actual religions it disdains, and was arrogated to the purposes of violent conquest, slavery, looting, and totalitarian authority over others. It isn’t accidental that the very word “Islam” means “submission,” nor that its punishment for renouncing Islam is death.

The fact that the Quran itself is a political document is not open to argument: it is the political constitution of Saudi Arabia, where Islam came into being as a political and military force.

Islam’s trail of violence, terrorism, and conquest throughout its history tells any reasonable person that it has become imperative to study and evaluate Islam and Arab imperialism objectively, empirically, and critically. Such analysis is not bigotry; it is simply empirical deconstruction, using reason, observation, and the scientific method.

The people protesting the building of the mosque in Murfreesboro are protesting because they are the most informed members of the community, who have actually studied the subject and know with unshakable certainty the truth: Islam is not a religion; Islam is totalitarianism masquerading as religion.

With millions more poor illegals there will be a greater need for social workers, welfare workers, public school teachers and aides, more school lunch programs, more prisons, more police, more government workers of every kind. This will enlarge the number of voters reliant on the government for paychecks and will swell the membership rolls of the National Education Association, AFSCME, SEIU and other Democrat organizations.

 If we regard Islam as a religion, we tie our hands and will not …be able to oppose it. But as stated above, Islam is more than a religion. It is also a social order and a political doctrine. These two dimensions of Islam are in violation of our laws and we can ban them.

No one can protest if we ban the Sharia law that prescribes stoning, beheading, wife beating and maiming. No one can object if we outlaw the verses of the Quran that call for violence against non-Muslims and incite hate. We can ban Islam by banning its violence.

Since Islam is a trinity and its religious dimension cannot be separated from its socio-political elements, banning the latter two implies banning Islam as a whole. A knife is made of a blade and a handle. If the blade is banned the handle becomes useless.

When mosques are built, imams, mullahs or mosque elders tend to be sent to the U.S. with one clear mission:  Make Islamic religion, laws, and life supreme within the Unite States or any other host country, using any and all tactics necessary. 

 Next, from within the safety of their local mosques, they begin to use their revolting practices and wild sermonizing to force the genteel Americans to relocate to safer, less threatening neighborhoods and cities as is the case in England and other European countries.

We can not have a dual standard in …the US that allows one religion preference over another.

-૨૦૦૯ના નવેંબરમાં અમેરિકી લશ્કરના ફોર્ટ હૂડ મથક ખાતે મેજર (મનોચિકિત્સક) નિદાલ મલિક હસને કોઇ પૂર્વ ઉશ્કેરણી વિના ડઝનબંધ જવાનો પર ગોળીબાર કર્યો હતો એ તમને કદાચ યાદ હશે. ત્યારબાદ એક મહિલા સાર્જંટે એના પર ગોળીબાર કરીને એને ઇજા પહોંચાડીને વઘુ હત્યાઓ કરતો રોક્યો.

– ૨૦૦૯ના ડિસેંબરની ૨૫મીએ નાતાલના  દિવસે નોર્થ વેસ્ટ એરલાઇન્સની અમેરિકા તરફ આવતી ફ્લાઇટને ઉમર ફારૂખ અબ્દુલમુતલ્લબ નામના એક યુવાને ઊડાવી દેવાનો નિષ્ફળ પ્રયત્ન કર્યો. આમ જુઓ તો આ બંને ઘટના વચ્ચે દેખીતો કોઇ સંબંધ નથી. પરંતુ, બીજી રીતે જુઓ તો આ બંને એક જ આતંકવાદી ગુરૂના ચેલા છે.

અમેરિકાએ એ આતંકવાદી ‘ધર્મગુરૂ’ (ભૂતપૂર્વ ઇમામ) અનવર અલ ઔલાકીને પણ આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય ગુનેગાર જાહેર કર્યો છે. ૧૯૭૧ના એપ્રિલની ૨૨મીએ મેક્સિકોમાં જન્મેલા ફક્ત ૩૮ વરસના આ ઇમામે ઘણા સરફિરા આતંકવાદીને માત્ર પોતાના પ્રવચનથી આત્મઘાતી બનવાની પ્રેરણા આપી હતી. એક માણસ કેટલું ઝેર પોતાની વાણી દ્વારા ફેલાવી શકે એનો આ વિરલ દાખલો છે. જો આ જ ધર્મ હોય તો અધર્મ કોને કહેવો એ એક કૂટપ્રશ્ન બની રહે.

અમેરિકા અને યૂરોપના દેશો અનવરને ‘બિન લાદેન ઑફ ઇન્ટરનેટ’ તરીકે ઓળખે છે. સિવિલ એંજિનિયરની ડિગ્રી ધરાવતા અનવરનો યમનની ઇમામ યુનિવર્સિટી સાથે સંબંધ છે. આ યુનિવર્સિટીએ એને ઇમામ તરીકેની ડિગ્રી આપી હતી. આ યુનિવર્સિટીના વડા અલ કાયદાના ખેર ખાં ગણાતા અબ્દુલ મજિદ અલ-ઝિન્દાની છે. અમેરિકા પર થયેલા ૯-૧૧ના હુમલાના સૂત્રધારોએ અનવરનાં ‘ધાર્મિક વ્યાખ્યાનો’ સાંભળ્યાં હતાં.

એજ રીતે મેજર નિદાલ મલિક હસને ઇન્ટરનેટ પર અનવરનાં પ્રવચનો સાંભળ્યા હતા. કેટલાક લોકોના અવાજમાં જાદુ હોય છે. આષાઠી કંઠ ધરાવતા કે ખરજનો ઘેરો કંઠ ધરાવતા લોકો ઘણીવાર અનાયાસે સાંભળનારને હિપ્નોટાઇઝ કરે છે. તેમની વાણીમાં સંમોહિત કરવાની શક્તિ રહેલી હોય છે. અનવરની વાણી એવી છે. નોર્થ વેસ્ટ એરલાઇન્સના વિમાનને ૩૦૦ ઉતારૂ સાથે ઊડાવી દેવાની પેરવી કરનારા અબ્દુલમુતલ્લબે પણ અનવરનાં પ્રવચનો સાંભળીને આતંકવાદ અપનાવ્યો હતો.

અમારે ત્યાં ઓસામા બિન લાદેન કે મુંબઇ પરના હુમલામાં સંડોવાયેલા કોઇ આતંકવાદી નથી એવાં બેસૂરાં ગાણાં પાકિસ્તાન ગાય છે એ રીતે યમને અમેરિકાને કહી દીઘું કે અમારે ત્યાં અનવર અલ-ઐાલાકી નામનો કોઇ માણસ નથી. જો કે અવારનવાર અનવર અરબી પ્રેસનેે યમનમાં બેઠાં બેઠાં ઇન્ટરવ્યૂ આપે છે પરંતુ યમન સરકાર કે તેની પોલીસને એ શોઘ્યો જડતો નથી, બોલો ! આ માણસે અમેરિકાની એક કરતાં વઘુ મસ્જિદમાં ઇમામ તરીકેની સેવા આપી હતી અને ભડકામણાં પ્રવચનો કર્યાં હતાં ત્યારે અમેરિકા ગાઢ ઊંઘમાં હતું. જાગ્યું ત્યારે ઔલાકી નૌ દો ગ્યારહ થઇ ગયો હતો. અહીં યાદ રહે કે ઓસામા બિન લાદેન અને લેટેસ્ટ ડેવિડ હેડલી કે તહવ્વુર રાણા એક સમયે અમેરિકી સીઆઇએના પગારદાર નોકર હતા. આજે એ જ સાપ અમેરિકાનું દૂધ પીને અમેરિકાને ડસે છે ત્યારે અમેરિકા એમને પકડીને સજા કરવા તડપે છે. આને કહેવાય વિધિની વક્રતા !

અનવર શરૂમાં કોલોરાડોમાં ફોર્ટ કોલીન્સની અને ત્યારબાદ કેલિફોર્નિયામાં સાન ડિયેગોની મસ્જિદ અર-રિબાત અલ-ઇસ્લામીમાં ઇમામ તરીકે ફરજ બજાવી ચૂક્યો હતો. કેલિફોર્નિયામાં તો ૧૯૯૬ થી ૨૦૦૦ સુધી હતો. ૯૮-૯૯માં ખુદ એફબીઆઇએ જેને ચેરિટેબલ સોસાયટી ફોર સોશ્યલ વેલફેર (સીએસએસડબલ્યૂ)નો ઉપપ્રમુખ ગણાવ્યો હતો. આ સંસ્થા યમનની ઇમામ યુનિવર્સિટીના વડા અબ્દુલ મજિદ અલ-ઝિન્દાનીએ સ્થાપી હતી અને એ વેશ્યાઓના હિત માટે કામ કરે છે.

સમાજ સેવાના અંચળા હેઠળ આ સંસ્થા આતંકવાદી પ્રવૃત્તિ માટે પૈસા ભેગા કરે છે એવું એફબીઆઇના એજન્ટ બ્રાયન મર્ફીએ કોર્ટને જણાવ્યું હતું. ખરી રસપ્રદ વાત તો હવે આવે છે. ૯-૧૧ના બે આતંકવાદી (નવાફ અલ-હાઝમી અને ખાલિદ અલમિંધર)ને એફબીઆઇ સાથે સીધો સંબંધ હતો એમ એક સાક્ષીએ ૨૦૦૦ની સાલમાં કોર્ટમાં કહ્યું હતું. આ બંને પણ ઐાલાકીના શાગિર્દ હતા અને સાન ડિયેગોમાં મસ્જિદ અલ ઐાલાકીમાં નમાજ પઢવા જતા હતા. આ બંને જણ ઔલાકી સાથે બંધ બારણે બેઠકો યોજતા હતા એટલે એમ માની શકાય કે ઔલાકીને ૯-૧૧ હુમલાની આગોતરી જાણ હતી.

છેલ્લે છેલ્લે ઐાલાકીએ વૉશિંગ્ટનમાં દાર-અલ હિજરાહ મસ્જિદના ઇમામ તરીકે સેવા આપી હતી. આ માણસ અલ કાયદાનો મહત્ત્વનો માણસ હતો અને અમેરિકામાં બેઠાં બેઠાં અમેરિકાને ટાપલાં મારતો હતો છતાં દુનિયાની સૌથી કાબેલ જાસૂસી સંસ્થા ધરાવવાનો ફાંકો રાખતા અમેરિકાને એનાં કાળાં કરતૂતોની ખબર નહોતી, બોલો ! આ વિશે વઘુ ફરી ક્યારેક.

I have had the privilege of representing Palestine Jewry in this country and in other countries when the problems that we faced were those of building more kibbutzim, of bringing in more Jews in spite of political obstacles and Arab riots.We always had faith that in the end we would win, that everything we were doing in the country led to the independence of the Jewish people and to a Jewish state.Long before we had dared pronounce that word, we knew what was in store for us.

Today we have reached a point when the nations of the world have given us their decision – the establishment of a Jewish state in a part of Palestine. Now in Palestine we are fighting to make this resolution of the United Nations a reality, not because we wanted to fight. If we had the choice, we would have chosen peace to build in peace.

We have no alternative Friends, we have no alternative in Palestine.

The Mufti and his men have declared war upon us. We have to fight for our lives, for our safety, and for what we have accomplished in Palestine, and perhaps above all, we must fight for Jewish honour and Jewish independence. Without exaggeration, I can tell you that the Jewish community in Palestine is doing this well. Many of you have visited Palestine; all of you have read about our young people and have a notion as to what our youth is like. I have known this generation for the last twenty-seven years. I thought I knew them. I realize now that even I did not.

These young boys and girls, many in their teens, are bearing the burden of what is happening in the country with a spirit that no words can describe. You see these youngsters in open cars—not armoured cars—in convoys going from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, knowing that every time they start out from Tel Aviv or from Jerusalem there are probably Arabs behind the orange groves or the hills, waiting to ambush the convoy.

These boys and girls have accepted the task of bringing Jews over these roads in safety as naturally as though they were going out to their daily work or to their classes in the university.We must ask the Jews the world over to see us as the front line . All we ask of Jews the world over, and mainly of the Jews in the United States, is to give us the possibility of going on with the struggle.

When trouble started, we asked young people from the age of seventeen to twenty-five who were not members of Haganah, to volunteer. Up to the day that I left home on Thursday morning, when the registration of this age group was still going on, over 20,000 young men and women had signed up. As of now we have about 9,000 people mobilized in the various parts of the country. We must triple this number within the next few days.

We have to maintain these men. No government sends its soldiers to the front and expects them to take along from their homes the most elementary requirements—blankets, bedding, clothing.A people that is fighting for its very life knows how to supply the men they send to the front lines. We too must do the same.

Thirty-five of our boys, unable to go by car on the road to besieged Kfar Etzion to bring help, set out by foot through the hills; they knew the road, the Arab villages on that road, and the danger they would have to face. Some of the finest youngsters we have in the country were in that group, and they were all killed, every one of them. We have a description from an Arab of how they fought to the end for over seven hours against hundreds of Arabs According to this Arab, the last boy killed, with no more ammunition left, died with a stone in his hand.

 

 

We will fight to the end I want to say to you, friends, that the Jewish community in Palestine is going to fight to the very end. If we have arms to fight with, we will fight with those, and if not, we will fight with stones in our hands. I want you to believe me when I say that I came on this special mission to the United States today not to save 700,000 Jews. During the last few years the Jewish people lost 6,000,000 Jews, and it would be audacity on our part to worry the Jewish people throughout the world because a few hundred thousand more Jews were in danger. That is not the issue.

The issue is that if these 700,000 Jews in Palestine can remain alive, then the Jewish people as such is alive and Jewish independence is assured. If these 700,000 people are killed off, then for many centuries, we are through with this dream of a Jewish people and a Jewish homeland.

 

My friends, we are at war. There is no Jew in Palestine who does not believe that finally we will be victorious. That is the spirit of the country. We have known Arab riots since 1921 and ’29 and ’36. We know what happened to the Jews of Europe during this last war. And every Jew in the country also knows that within a few months a Jewish state in Palestine will be established.We knew that the price we would have to pay would be the best of our people. There are over 300 killed by now. There will be more. There is no doubt that there will be more. But there is also no doubt that the spirit of our young people is such that no matter how many Arabs invade the country, their spirit will not falter. However, this valiant spirit alone cannot face rifles and machine guns. Rifles and machine guns without spirit are not worth very much, but spirit without arms can in time be broken with the body.

Much must be prepared now so that we can hold out. There are unlimited opportunities, but are we going to get the necessary means? Considering myself not as a guest, but as one of you, I say that the question before each one is simply whether the Yishuv, and the youngsters that are in the front line, will have to fail because money that should have reached Palestine today will reach it in a month or two months from now?

Is it possible that time should decide the issue not because Palestinian Jews are cowards, not because they are incapable, but merely because they lack the material means to carry on?

 

I have come to the United States, and I hope you will understand me if I say that it is not an easy matter for any of us to leave home at present—to my sorrow I am not in the front line. I am not with my daughter in the Negev or with other sons and daughters in the trenches. But I have a job to do. I have come here to try to impress Jews in the United States with the fact that within a very short period, a couple of weeks, we must have in cash between twenty-five and thirty million dollars. In the next two or three weeks we can establish ourselves. Of that we are convinced, and you must have faith; we are sure that we can carry on.I said before that the Yishuv will give, is giving of its means. But please remember that even while shooting is going on, we must carry on so that our economy remains intact. Our factories must go on. Our settlements must not be broken up.We know that this battle is being waged for those not yet in the country.

There are 30,000 Jews detained right next door to Palestine in Cyprus. I believe that within a very short period, within the next two or three months at most, these 30,000 will be with us, among them thousands of infants and young children. We must now think of preparing means of absorbing them. We know that within the very near future, hundreds of thousands more will be coming in. We must see that our economy is intact.

I want you to understand that there is no despair in the Yishuv. This is true not only of the young people. I have travelled the road from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and other roads quite a bit. I have seen these dangerous buses filled not only with young Haganah men and girls, but with old people travelling the roads as a matter of course.When you go to Tel Aviv now, you will find the city full of life; only the shooting that you hear on the outskirts of Tel Aviv and Jaffa reminds one that the situation in the country is not normal. But it would be a crime on my part not to describe the situation to you exactly as it is.

Merely with our ten fingers and merely with spirit and sacrifice, we cannot carry on this battle, and the only hinterland that we have is you. The Mufti has the Arab states—not all so enthusiastic about helping him but states with government budgets. The Egyptian government can vote a budget to aid our antagonists. The Syrian government can do the same We have no Government but we have millions of Jews in the Diaspora, and exactly as we have faith in our youngsters in Palestine I have faith in Jews in the United States; I believe that they will realize the peril of our situation and will do what they have to do.

I know that we are not asking for something easy. I myself have sometimes been active in various campaigns and fund collections, and I know that collecting at once a sum such as I ask is not simple. But I have seen our people at home. I have seen them come from the offices to the clinics when we called the community to give their blood for a blood bank to treat the wounded. I have seen them lined up for hours, waiting so that some of their blood can be added to this bank.

It is blood plus money that is being given in Palestine.

I know that many of you would be as anxious as our people to be on the very front line. I do not doubt that there are many young people among the Jewish community in the United States who would do exactly what our young people are doing in Palestine.We are not a better breed; we are not the best Jews of the Jewish people. It so happened that we are there and you are here. I am certain that if you were in Palestine and we were in the United States, you would be doing what we are doing there, and you would ask us here to do what you will have to do.

I want to close with paraphrasing one of the greatest speeches that was made during the Second World War—the words of Churchill.I am not exaggerating when I say that the Yishuv in Palestine will fight in the Negev and will fight in Galilee and will fight on the outskirts of Jerusalem until the very end.

You cannot decide whether we should fight or not. We will. The Jewish community in Palestine will raise no white flag for the Mufti. That decision is taken. Nobody can change it. You can only decide one thing: whether we shall be victorious in this fight or whether the Mufti will be victorious. That decision American Jews can make. It has to be made quickly within hours, within days.

And I beg of you—don’t be too late. Don’t be bitterly sorry three months from now for what you failed to do today. The time is now.I have spoken to you without a grain of exaggeration. I have not tried to paint the picture in false colours. It consists of spirit and certainty of our victory on the one hand, and dire necessity for carrying on the battle on the other.

I want to thank you again for having given me the opportunity at a conference that I am certain has a full agenda to say these few words to you. I leave the platform without any doubt in my mind or my heart that the decision that will be taken by American Jewry will be the same as that which was taken by the Jewish community in Palestine, so that within a few months from now we will all be able to participate not only in the joy of resolving to establish a Jewish state, but in the joy of laying the cornerstone of the Jewish state.

Obama backs Mosque near ground zero

President Barack Obama on Friday forcefully endorsed building a mosque near ground zero, saying the country’s founding principles demanded no less.

“As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country,” Obama said, weighing in for the first time on a controversy that has riven New York and the nation.

“That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances,” he said. “This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable.”

Obama made the comments at an annual dinner in the White House State Dining Room celebrating the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

Obama elevated it to a presidential issue Friday without equivocation.

While insisting that the place where the twin towers once stood was indeed “hallowed ground,” Obama said that the proper way to honor it was to apply American values.

“Our capacity to show not merely tolerance, but respect to those who are different from us — a way of life that stands in stark contrast to the nihilism of those who attacked us on that September morning, and who continue to plot against us today,” he said.

 

Ali Sina on Ground Zero Mosque, Cordova House

On 9/11 2001, Muslim jihadists butchered 3000 Americans.  Nine years later, a Muslim Imam wants to build a 13 story monument two blocks away from the site of that carnage.

Many Americans, particularly the New Yorkers and the families of the victims of that tragedy are outraged at the insensitivity, bordering arrogance of Faisal Abdul Rauf, the imam behind this project.  Rauf says it is not a mosque but an Islamic center. The name does not change anything. Whatever you call it, it is of extreme poor judgment.

In 2004, Rauf published a book calling it “What is Right with Islam is What is Right with America.”  In that book he argued “The American political structure is Sharia compliant. For America to score even higher on the ‘Islamic’ or ‘Sharia compliance’ scale America would need to do two things. Invite the voices of all religions in shaping the nations’ practical life, and allow religious communities more leeway to judge among themselves according to their own laws.”    

The truth is that the American constitution and the Sharia law are opposite of each other. It is interesting however, how Rauf composed his statement.  He did not say that the Sharia is in compliance with the US constitution, but the other way round. By doing so he wanted to establish the superiority of the Sharia over the US constitution.  

The fact is that the American Constitution and the Sharia differ fundamentally. For example, the Sharia does not recognize

• Freedom of speech,
• Freedom of conscience
• Equality of all people before the law
• Equality of the rights of women with men

 

Of course, as an Imam he can’t reject the Sharia. He will reject the constitution when not in compliance with the Sharia.   

There is nothing in the constitution of the USA that is in agreement with the Sharia law.  You cannot find two documents more diametrically opposed to each other. 

Think about stoning the adulterers, killing the apostates, hanging or beheading the homosexuals, chopping the hands of the thief, imposing a dress code on people and flogging them for consuming alcohol. These are all part of the Sharia law and against the Constitution. You can’t serve two masters. Muslims will have to either submit to the Sharia law or to the US constitution.  If they submit to one, they are in violation of the other.  

But the disturbing part in Rauf’s statement is the fact that he compares Islamic laws with the secular laws of America. This is proof that his goal is to supplant the latter with the former.  Statements such as this make it clear that the ambition of Muslims in America is political. 

Rauf ignores the fact the in the USA religion and state are kept apart.  When he says “America would need invite the voices of all religions in shaping the nations’ practical life, and allow religious communities more leeway to judge among themselves according to their own laws,” he is not talking about Jews, Christians or other religions. In fact adherents of these faiths want to keep state and religion separate. Rauf wants these rights solely for Muslims.  He aspires to convert America into an Islamic theocracy.   

The Sharia law does not just regulate the rights of the Muslims but also the non-Muslims must submit to it.  How is that going to work according to this imam? Well that part will have to wait until Muslims become the majority and convert America into a Sharia compliant state, like Saudi Arabia.  Then no one has any right anymore. 

As far as Muslims are concerned the Sharia law is from God and it supersedes all constitutions that are written by men.   

The implication is grave. It means that Muslims who uphold the Sharia law are a subversive group whose aim is to destroy our system of government.  Muslims present Islam as a religion whereas their agenda is political and subversive. 

When in 2007, Rauf published his book in the Muslims world, he did not call it What is Right with America is What is Right with Islam. He called it A Call to Prayer from the WTC rubbles: Islamic Da’wa from the Heart of America Post 9/11. 

This is the kind of talk that resonates in Muslim world. The message that Rauf wants to send to Americans is that the Sharia is very similar to their constitution and hence they should not fear Islam. But his message to his fellow coreligionists is different.  To them he is announcing that a da’wa is being issued to Americans from the rubbles of 9/11. 

What is Da’wa?  Da’wa means invitations to submit to Islam. Jihad has two phases.  The first phase is the invitation. Disbelievers are to be warned first and given a chance to submit. If they refuse the next stage is qital (fighting). Da’wa and qital are integral parts of jihad. 

The Cordova House will be the ultimatum, a line drawn in the sand for the Americans. After the da’wa is issued, Americans will have two choices: They must either submit to Islam or face more terrorism.

 

What is in the name? 

The choice of the name is also significant.  Cordova House may mean nothing to Americans, but for Muslims it is fraught with meaning. 

Cordova is a city in south Spain. Muslims armies invaded Spain in 711, massacring countless people. Then they converted the biggest church in Cordova into a mosque.

Building mosques over churches, synagogues and temples of the conquered people began during the life of Muhammad who converted the temple of the Arabs in Mecca into an Islamic mosque.   

Muslims have been doing the same ever since.  Numerous Hindu temples, churches, synagogues and Zoroastrian temples were converted into mosques. The objective is twofold” To humiliate the defeated people and to establish the supremacy of Islam.

The mosque over the temple of Solomon in Jerusalem is one example. When Muslims conquered the Byzantine Empire they converted the biggest church in the Christian empire into a mosque.   In India over 5000 mosques are built on Hindu temples. 

A mosque, a place from which da’wa is issued, built over the rubbles of the WTC is a hint to Muslims that jihad is on the march and that Islam is advancing and conquering new territories.  The conquest of Cordova ushered Muslims into an era of opulence, the so called Golden Age of Islam. It is therefore a symbol of Islamic conquest and supremacy, which Muslims recall nostalgically.

 

 

Who is Faisal Abdul Rauf? 

Imam Rauf tries to present himself as a moderate Muslim. Far from it! He has made statements that show he has very radical views. Right after 9/11 Rauf blamed the victims and said, “United States policies were an accessory to the crime that happened on 9/11.” 

He also said “We [Americans] have been an accessory to a lot of innocent lives dying in the world. In fact, in the most direct sense, Osama bin Laded was made in the USA.”  

Rauf supports Muslim Brotherhood, the same group that wants to destroy America from within, and has nerve condemned Hezbollah or Hamas terrorist organizations. 

In October 2009, the Former Muslims United sent Rauf and his wife the Pledge of Freedom that states Muslims should not be killed if they choose to leave Islam.  The couple refused to sign it. So much for their tolerance!  Also he has never made it public where the $100 million dollars financing comes from. 

There are 2300 mosques in the USA and over 200 in New York.  There is no need for another one, especially in the proximity of where Muslims massacred thousands of Americans.  Why this place?   The choice of the Ground Zero is no accident. Muslims have chosen this spot to a) thumb their nose at Americans and at the families of the victims and b) send a message to Muslim world announcing Islam’s victory over the “Great Satan.” 

The Cordova House will have a huge symbolic significance for Muslims and it encourages them to enlist in jihad and make the ultimate objective of Islam, which is world domination come true. 

Rauf is not a man of peace. He has made very inflammatory comments, such as “one man’s terrorist is another man’s hero.”   

In an article entitled, “Sharing the Essence of Our Beliefs,” published in the Al-Ghad Newspaper in Jordan, 5/9/2009, translated by Walid Shoebat, Rauf wrote:

If someone in the Middle East cries out, “where is the law”, he knows that the law exists. The only law that the Muslim needs exists already in the Koran and the Hadith. 

People asked me right after the 9/11 attack as to why do movements with political agendas carry [Islamic] religious names? Why call it ‘Muslim Brotherhood’ or ‘Hezbollah (Party of Allah)’ or ‘Hamas’ or ‘Islamic Resistance Movement’? I answer them this—that the trend towards Islamic law and justice begins in religious movements, because secularism has failed to deliver what the Muslim wants, which is life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” 

Rauf is not talking about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all the people. According to Islam these rights belong only to Muslims. The non-Muslims must suffer defeat, ignominy and dhimmitude.  

Follow the Money Trail 

Why would Mayor Bloomberg and the majority of the council members of the New York City support such an offensive project? The answer is, follow the money trail.   

I am not accusing anyone, but my hunch tells me to be suspicious of anyone who strongly defends Islamic interests over the interests of his own country.   

The Saudi and the Iranian regimes spend large sums of money buying the loyalty of politicians and the academicians in the west.  The western supporters of Islam are not often mere useful idiots. In many cases they are well paid traitors.  

An example that comes to mind is the US congressman Mark D. Siljander who began his career as a zealous evangelical Christian and then went on to write a book, A Deadly Misunderstanding, to “bridge the Muslim-Christian divide.”  He argued that Christian and Muslim religious texts are surprisingly compatible, when studied in their original languages. This is of course a blatant lie. The truth came out on July 7, 2010, when Siljander pleaded guilty to two counts of receiving money from Muslims and supporting Muslim terrorists.  He was indicted in January 2008 on charges of money laundering, conspiracy and obstruction of justice. 

Throughout the history, Islamic forces have deceived their victims, making them think Islam and Muslims are peace-loving, only later to find the opposite. Another example of this deception/treason happened in A.D. 635 when Damascus fell to Muslims because they deceived and bribed its Bishop who opened the city gates at night.  

Anytime a politician defends Islam under the guise of “tolerance” and “community cohesion,” I think about money.  Chances are you’ll find a skeleton in their closet. I am not accusing anyone in particular. I don’t know the facts. But I won’t be surprised if one day we find out that the politicians who defend the construction of this Islam Trojan horse on Ground Zero were paid for their support. 

Mayor Bloomberg calls patriotic Americans who don’t want this mosque, “un-American.” He should know that it is very American to defend the American constitution against any creeping alien ideology whose adherents do not hide their intention to bring down America and “sabotage its miserable house from within.”   What is un-American is to open the gates of the country to its sworn enemies.  Whether the Mayor is bribed, or he is merely a useful idiot is not for me to decide. It is one or the other and in either case he is not qualfied to be the mayor of New York. But one thing is certain and that is his support for Islamists against the interests of America is very un-American.
