THE world hit seven billion people last week, and I think I met half of them on the road from New Delhi to Agra here in India. They were on foot, on bicycle, on motor scooters. They were in pickups, dented cars and crammed into motorized rickshaws. They were dodging monkeys and camels and cows. Somehow, though, without benefit of police or stoplights, this flow of humanity that is modern India impossibly went about its business.

But just when your mind tells you that this crush of people will surely overwhelm all efforts to lift the mass of India out of poverty, you start to notice a pattern: Every few miles there’s a cellphone tower and a fresh-looking building poking out of the controlled chaos. And the sign out front invariably says “school” — engineering school, biotechnology school, English-language school, business school, computer school or private elementary school.

India is still the only country I know where you can find a billboard advertising “physics degrees.”

All these schools, plus 600 million cellphones, plus 1.2 billion people, half of whom are under 25, are India’s hope — because only by leveraging technology and brains can India deliver a truly better life for its masses. There are a million reasons why it won’t happen, but there is one big reason it might.

The predicted really is happening: India’s young techies are moving from running the back rooms of Western companies, who outsourced work here, to inventing the front rooms of Indian companies, which are offering creative, low-cost solutions for India’s problems.

The late C.K. Prahalad called it “Gandhian innovation,” and I encountered many examples around New Delhi.

Meet Vijay Pratap Singh Aditya, the C.E.O. of Ekgaon. His focus is Indian farmers, who make up half the population and constitute what he calls “an emerging market within an emerging market.” Ekgaon built a software program that runs on the cheapest cellphones and offers illiterate farmers a voice or text advisory program that tells them when is the best time to plant their crops, how to mix their fertilizers and pesticides, when to dispense them and how much water to add each day.

“India has to increase farm productivity,” explains Aditya, “but our farms are small, and advisers from the Agriculture Department can’t reach many of them. So they go for hearsay methods of planting, which leads to low productivity and soil desertification.”

Using cloud computing, Ekgaon tailors its advice to each farmer’s specific soil, crop and weather conditions. Some 12,000 farmers are already subscribing ($5 for one year), and the plan is set to grow to 15 million in five years.

Meet K. Chandrasekhar, the C.E.O. of Forus Health, whose focus is “avoidable blindness” among India’s rural poor. A quarter of the world’s blind people, some 12 million, are in India, Chandrasekhar explains, and more than 80 percent of those are blind as a result of a lack of screening and a lack of ophthalmologists in rural areas.

In the past, comprehensive screening required multiple expensive diagnostic devices to check for diabetic retinas, cataracts, glaucoma, cornea and refraction problems, all of which cause 90 percent of the avoidable blindness in India. So Forums invented “a single, portable, intelligent, noninvasive, eye pre screening device” that can identify all five of these major ailments and also provide an automated “Normal or Needs to See a Doctor” report; it can be run by a trained technician, who through telemedicine connects patients to a doctor.

“We work with a Dutch company on optics, and the University of Texas supports us in business development,” Chandrasekhar adds.

“We are talking to a Brazilian company that is interested in manufacturing our technology and selling in Latin America.”

Outsources are becoming outsources.

Meet Aloke Bajpai, who, like others on his young team, cut his teeth working for Western technology companies but returned to India on a bet that he could start something — he just didn’t  know what.

The result is iXiGO.com, a travel search service that can run on the cheapest cellphones and helps Indians book the lowest-cost fares, whether it is a farmer who wants to go by bus or train for a few rupees from Chennai to Bangalore or a millionaire who wants to go by plane to Paris. iXiGO now has one million unique users a month and is growing.

Bajpai used free open-source software, Skype and cloud-based office tools like Google Apps and social media marketing on Facebook to build his software platform and grow his company. They “enabled us to grow so much faster with no money,” he said.

Finally, there’s Nandan Nilekani, the former C.E.O. of Infosys Technologies, India’s outsourcing giant, who is now leading a government effort to give every Indian citizen an ID number — a crucial initiative in a country where most people have no drivers license, passport or even birth certificate.

In the last two years, 100 million people have signed up for an official ID.

Once everyone has one, the government can deliver them services or subsidies — some $60 billion each year — directly through cellphones or bank accounts, without inept or corrupt bureaucrats siphoning some off.

“We’re bringing the most sophisticated technology to the most deprived,” said Nilekani.

“The hyper connected world is giving us a chance to change India faster, at a larger scale, than ever before.”

ARV એન્ટી-રિટ્રો-વાઈરલ નામની દવા બધા જ એચ આઈ વી પોઝીટીવ દર્દીઓને અપાય છે. અને સરકારના નેશનલ એઈડ કન્ટ્રોલ ઓર્ગેનાઈઝેશન દ્વારા આ ARV અપાય છે.
હવે આ ARV એ કોઈ અધિકૃત દવા છે જ નહીં. અને તેનાથી દર્દીઓ બચે છે તે પણ સાબિત થયું નથી તો પણ સરકાર કે જેણે નેચરોપથીની સારવારને માન્યતા આપી છે તો પણ તેને અવગણીને જે દવાને (ARV) ને વિશ્વમાં ક્યાંય પણ માન્યતા મળી નથી તેમજ વિશ્વ આરોગ્ય સંસ્થા એ જે દવાને નકારી છે તે દવાનો કેન્દ્ર સરકાર અને નેશનલ એઈડ કન્ટ્રોલ ઓર્ગેનીઝેશન ARV બનાવતી કંપનીની મીલીભગત થી ARVનો ઉપચારમાં વપરાશ કરી મોટું સડયંત્ર ચલાવી રહી છે. ARV દવા સપ્લાય કરતી કંપનીનું ત્રણ થી પાંચ અબજ રુપીયા વડે ગજવું ભરાય છે અને લગભગ ૨૦૦૦ વયસ્ક લોકો અને ૨૦૦ જેટલા બાળકો રોજ મરે છે. એટલે આ કામ તો કાયદાની દૃષ્ટિએ ગુનાઈત જ થયું કહેવાય.

વળી આ અધુરું હોય તેમ જે ચિકિત્સકો યોગ જેવી નેચરોપથીની ચિકિત્સા દ્વાર ઉપચાર કરે છે તેમને આ કેન્દ્ર સરકાર કોર્ટ કચેરીમાં ખડા કરે છે અને સજા કરી દંડાવે છે.”

We hear about importance of drinking enough water constantly. On the flip side, there has been a growing trend in the media lately that the commonly recommended eight cups of water daily is a myth, which is technically accurate, but not the whole story. Whether you need eight cups of water daily, or four or ten, most people are not getting the message that whatever their particular water needs are, they aren’t meeting them.

And even dietitians, nutritionists, and medical professionals are contributing to the problem by informing people that they get enough water in their diet in the form of fruits and vegetables. That might be true for some people, but after assessing the diets of countless people, I assure you that isn’t the case for most people.

Plus, have you ever noticed that when you throw vegetables in a pan and turn on the heat you’ll see liquid in the pan soon afterward, and then shortly after that you’ll see steam rising from them? That’s because you’re literally cooking the water out of the vegetables.

Researchers estimate that half of the world’s population is chronically dehydrated. And in America, that level is even higher at 75 percent of the population.

More than two-thirds of your body weight is water. Without adequate water your body’s biochemical and electrical (yes electrical, read on!) processes begin to break down. The list of reasons your body needs water is as plentiful as the functions in your body, so due to space limitations, here are 10 good reasons to drink more water:

1. Your blood is over 80 percent water and needs water to make healthy new blood cells.

2. Your bones are over 50 percent water and, you guessed it, need water to make healthy new bone cells.

3. Drinking more water actually helps lessen pain in your body by getting your lymphatic system moving. The lymphatic system is a network of nodes, tubes, vessels, and fluid that move waste out of your tissues. It requires water to function properly.

4. Water helps to eliminate wastes and toxins from your body through thelymphatic system, kidneys, and intestines.

5. Water lubricates your joints and helps reduce joint pain and protect against wear and tear.

6. Water regulates your metabolism so if you’re overweight chances are you may need more water.

7. Water balances body temperature.

8. Water helps to ensure adequate electrical functioning so your brain and nervous system function properly. Your brain and nervous system send out electrical signals to function properly. Researchers estimate that your brain gives off about the same amount of electricity as a 60 watt light bulb. So, there’s some truth to the image of a light bulb going on when someone has a good idea.

9. Water alleviates dehydration (and I’ve already mentioned that most people are chronically dehydrated).

10. Every cell and organ in your body requires adequate water to function properly.

So, one of the quickest and easiest ways to improve your health is to start drinking more pure water every day. Be sure to drink water an empty stomach or you’ll simply be diluting your digestive enzymes and making your digestion less effective.

And, choose purified water as much as possible (but get yourself a BPA-free water bottle so you won’t pollute the planet with all those plastic water bottles. In wealthy, developed nations with plentiful access to water, we really have no excuses for not drinking enough water.

ગાંધીનગરની કેપ્ટન હિરલ અશ્વિનભાઇ વ્યાસ પોતાની સફળતાનો શ્રેય માતા ભાવનાબેન અને પિતા અશ્વિનભાઇને આપતા કહે છે કે, નાનપણમાં જ્યારે કોઇ જ સમજ ન હતી ત્યારે આકાશમાં જોઇને પ્લેન ઉડાડવાની કહેલી વાતને માતા-પિતાએ ગંભીરતાથી લીધી અને અભ્યાસ તેમજ કારકિર્દીના દરેક તબક્કે માત્ર અને માત્ર પાયલોટ બનવા સિવાય અન્ય કોઇ વિકલ્પ ઉપર ચર્ચા થતી નહીં. આ માટે ઘરમાં હકારાત્મક વાતાવરણ ઉભું કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું.તાલિમ વખતનો યાદગાર અનુભવ જણાવતા હિરલે કહે છે , અમદાવાદથી પાલીતાણા અને ત્યાંથી મહેસાણા સોલો ફ્લાઇંગ કરવાનું હતું. હું ટુ સીટર પ્લેન ફ્લાય કરતી હતી, તે વખતે પાલિતાણા પાસે ડાબી તરફથી પક્ષીઓના ઝૂંડ જેવું કશુંક મારો રૃટ ક્રોસ કરી રહ્યું હોય તેવું લાગ્યું. મેં એટીસી સાથે રેડિયો વડે સંપર્ક કર્યો પરંતુ કોઇ જવાબ મળ્યો નહીં. એટલીવારમાં તે વસ્તુ નજીક આવતાં એકાએક મને ખ્યાલ આવ્યો કે આ તો હેલિકોપ્ટર છે. સ્હેજપણ ગભરાયા વિના મેં સિફતપુર્વક મારા પ્લેનનું લેવલ વધારી દીધું અને હેલિકોપ્ટર બરાબર મારા પ્લેનની નીચેથી પસાર થઇ ગયું.
અમદાવાદ એવિએશન એન્ડ એરોનોટીક્સ સંસ્થામાંથી કોમર્શિયલ પાયલોટનું લાયસન્સ લીધા બાદ બંનેએ એક ખાનગી એરલાઇન્સમાં જોડાવા માટેની એક્ઝામ આપી છે.બંસરી અને હિરલ એકસાથે કહે છે કે, પાયોલોટ બનવા માટે તનતોડ મહેનત અને ૨૫થી ૩૦ લાખ રૃપિયાનો ખર્ચ થાય છે. જેના કારણે દરેક વ્યક્તિ ઇચ્છતી હોવા છતાં આ ક્ષેત્રમાં આવી શકતી નથી. આ માટે સરકાર દ્વારા પણ કોઇ મદદ મળતી નથી. માત્ર અનામત કેટેગરીમાં આવતા વિદ્યાર્થીઓને સ્કોલરશીપનો લાભ અપાય છે પરંતુ તેમને લાયસન્સ માટે સમયમર્યાદા અપાતી હોવાથી તેઓ પણ લાભ મેળવી શકતા નથી.
સરકાર આ ક્ષેત્રમાં આવવા માટે વિદ્યાર્થીઓને સ્કોલરશીપ અને અન્ય પ્રોત્સાહન આપે તે જરૃરી છે. આ જ રીતે પાયલોટ બની ગયા બાદ પણ રોજગારી માટે ભારે સંઘર્ષ કરવો પડે છે. ભારતની એરલાઇન્સ દ્વારા વિદેશી પાયલોટને પ્રથમ તક અપાય છે. હાલમાં ભારતની એરલાઇન્સમાં ૪૦ ટકા વિદેશી પાયલોટ છે. જેથી સ્થાનિક પાયલોટને જોઇએ તેવી તક મળતી નથી.
વળી અહીંના પાયલોટ વિદેશની કોઇ એરલાઇન્સમાં જોડાઇ શકતા નથી કેમ કે, તેઓના નિયમ પ્રમાણે ત્યાંના પેપર્સ ક્લીયર કરવા પડે છે અને ત્યાંની સિટીઝનશીપ મેળવવી પડે છે. ઇન્ડીયામાં આવા કોઇ નિયમ નથી. મંદી દરમિયાન પાયલોટની ભરતી સદંતર બંધ થઇ ગઇ હતી. જોકે, હવે થોડા પ્રમાણમાં રીક્રુટમેન્ટ શરૃ થઇ છે.

U.S. Fails To Secure Flight Schools

Nearly a decade after terrorists crashed planes into the World Trade Center and Pentagon how could the U.S. government permit an illegal immigrant to obtain a pilot’s license and run a school that trains dozens of foreigners to fly small aircraft?

 

The question is directed at the Homeland Security agency responsible for scrutinizing all foreign flight students before they can take lessons or get a pilot’s license in the U.S. Here’s a hint; the agency was created after 9/11 specifically to prevent another terrorist attack by protecting the nation’s transportation system, especially aviation. It’s the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

 

A few months ago a news report alerted TSA officials that a flight school in Stow Massachusetts, a rural community about 25 miles west of Boston, was operated by an illegal immigrant who somehow got a U.S. pilot’s license. Enrolled in the school (TJ Aviation Flight Academy) were more than 30 illegal aliens who were actually cleared by the TSA to train as pilots. Several of them had entered the U.S. legally but their visas expired, just like several of the 9/11 hijackers.

Many have been deported but the TSA has failed to implement any security controls to prevent a similar atrocity, though the agency is working “to refine the process for checking the immigration status of alien flight school students,” according to a spokesman quoted in a Boston newspaper this week. The story reveals that Homeland Security officials have not instituted new safeguards to stop other flight schools from enrolling illegal immigrants who could present national security threats.

Pilots are actually licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), but the agency relies on the TSA for criminal and immigration background checks. FAA officials claim that they don’t have the legal authority to revoke a pilot’s license for being in the country illegally, indicating that government bureaucracy is playing a role in the inexcusable security lapses.

 

The TSA, which has 55,000 employees, has compromised the nation’s security on many occasions and its lapses have been well documented over the years. The agency approved background checks for illegal immigrants to work in sensitive areas of busy airports, violated federal standards by not screening cargo and passengers on hundreds of thousands of planes that fly over the U.S. annually and allowed guns and bombs to slip by at major U.S. airports during random tests.

 

A few months ago inept screeners missed a suitcase filled with explosives that blasted after a three-hour domestic flight. Checked on a flight from Boston to Miami, the bag contained hundreds of bullet primers that exploded on the tarmac after the plane arrived in south Florida. Primers provide the spark that detonates the gunpowder in bullets.

 

In the meantime tax dollars keep pouring into TSA coffers. President Obama has given the agency more than $3 billion in recovery funds—including $98 million for “advanced technology X-ray units” that screen baggage—and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano wants Congress to increase its 2012 budget by $459 million to a whopping $8.1 billion.

નિર્દોષોનું લોહી રેડવાના પાઠ આ ધર્મગુરૂ ભણાવે છે….

જો આ જ ધર્મ હોય તો અધર્મ કોને કહેવો એ એક કૂટપ્રશ્ન બની રહે

-૨૦૦૯ના નવેંબરમાં અમેરિકી લશ્કરના ફોર્ટ હૂડ મથક ખાતે મેજર (મનોચિકિત્સક) નિદાલ મલિક હસને કોઇ પૂર્વ ઉશ્કેરણી વિના ડઝનબંધ જવાનો પર ગોળીબાર કર્યો હતો એ તમને કદાચ યાદ હશે. ત્યારબાદ એક મહિલા સાર્જંટે એના પર ગોળીબાર કરીને એને ઇજા પહોંચાડીને વઘુ હત્યાઓ કરતો રોક્યો.

– ૨૦૦૯ના ડિસેંબરની ૨૫મીએ નાતાલના  દિવસે નોર્થ વેસ્ટ એરલાઇન્સની અમેરિકા તરફ આવતી ફ્લાઇટને ઉમર ફારૂખ અબ્દુલમુતલ્લબ નામના એક યુવાને ઊડાવી દેવાનો નિષ્ફળ પ્રયત્ન કર્યો. આમ જુઓ તો આ બંને ઘટના વચ્ચે દેખીતો કોઇ સંબંધ નથી. પરંતુ, બીજી રીતે જુઓ તો આ બંને એક જ આતંકવાદી ગુરૂના ચેલા છે.

અમેરિકાએ એ આતંકવાદી ‘ધર્મગુરૂ’ (ભૂતપૂર્વ ઇમામ) અનવર અલ ઔલાકીને પણ આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય ગુનેગાર જાહેર કર્યો છે. ૧૯૭૧ના એપ્રિલની ૨૨મીએ મેક્સિકોમાં જન્મેલા ફક્ત ૩૮ વરસના આ ઇમામે ઘણા સરફિરા આતંકવાદીને માત્ર પોતાના પ્રવચનથી આત્મઘાતી બનવાની પ્રેરણા આપી હતી. એક માણસ કેટલું ઝેર પોતાની વાણી દ્વારા ફેલાવી શકે એનો આ વિરલ દાખલો છે. જો આ જ ધર્મ હોય તો અધર્મ કોને કહેવો એ એક કૂટપ્રશ્ન બની રહે.

અમેરિકા અને યૂરોપના દેશો અનવરને ‘બિન લાદેન ઑફ ઇન્ટરનેટ’ તરીકે ઓળખે છે. સિવિલ એંજિનિયરની ડિગ્રી ધરાવતા અનવરનો યમનની ઇમામ યુનિવર્સિટી સાથે સંબંધ છે. આ યુનિવર્સિટીએ એને ઇમામ તરીકેની ડિગ્રી આપી હતી. આ યુનિવર્સિટીના વડા અલ કાયદાના ખેર ખાં ગણાતા અબ્દુલ મજિદ અલ-ઝિન્દાની છે. અમેરિકા પર થયેલા ૯-૧૧ના હુમલાના સૂત્રધારોએ અનવરનાં ‘ધાર્મિક વ્યાખ્યાનો’ સાંભળ્યાં હતાં.

એજ રીતે મેજર નિદાલ મલિક હસને ઇન્ટરનેટ પર અનવરનાં પ્રવચનો સાંભળ્યા હતા. કેટલાક લોકોના અવાજમાં જાદુ હોય છે. આષાઠી કંઠ ધરાવતા કે ખરજનો ઘેરો કંઠ ધરાવતા લોકો ઘણીવાર અનાયાસે સાંભળનારને હિપ્નોટાઇઝ કરે છે. તેમની વાણીમાં સંમોહિત કરવાની શક્તિ રહેલી હોય છે. અનવરની વાણી એવી છે. નોર્થ વેસ્ટ એરલાઇન્સના વિમાનને ૩૦૦ ઉતારૂ સાથે ઊડાવી દેવાની પેરવી કરનારા અબ્દુલમુતલ્લબે પણ અનવરનાં પ્રવચનો સાંભળીને આતંકવાદ અપનાવ્યો હતો.

અમારે ત્યાં ઓસામા બિન લાદેન કે મુંબઇ પરના હુમલામાં સંડોવાયેલા કોઇ આતંકવાદી નથી એવાં બેસૂરાં ગાણાં પાકિસ્તાન ગાય છે એ રીતે યમને અમેરિકાને કહી દીઘું કે અમારે ત્યાં અનવર અલ-ઐાલાકી નામનો કોઇ માણસ નથી. જો કે અવારનવાર અનવર અરબી પ્રેસનેે યમનમાં બેઠાં બેઠાં ઇન્ટરવ્યૂ આપે છે પરંતુ યમન સરકાર કે તેની પોલીસને એ શોઘ્યો જડતો નથી, બોલો ! આ માણસે અમેરિકાની એક કરતાં વઘુ મસ્જિદમાં ઇમામ તરીકેની સેવા આપી હતી અને ભડકામણાં પ્રવચનો કર્યાં હતાં ત્યારે અમેરિકા ગાઢ ઊંઘમાં હતું. જાગ્યું ત્યારે ઔલાકી નૌ દો ગ્યારહ થઇ ગયો હતો. અહીં યાદ રહે કે ઓસામા બિન લાદેન અને લેટેસ્ટ ડેવિડ હેડલી કે તહવ્વુર રાણા એક સમયે અમેરિકી સીઆઇએના પગારદાર નોકર હતા. આજે એ જ સાપ અમેરિકાનું દૂધ પીને અમેરિકાને ડસે છે ત્યારે અમેરિકા એમને પકડીને સજા કરવા તડપે છે. આને કહેવાય વિધિની વક્રતા !

અનવર શરૂમાં કોલોરાડોમાં ફોર્ટ કોલીન્સની અને ત્યારબાદ કેલિફોર્નિયામાં સાન ડિયેગોની મસ્જિદ અર-રિબાત અલ-ઇસ્લામીમાં ઇમામ તરીકે ફરજ બજાવી ચૂક્યો હતો. કેલિફોર્નિયામાં તો ૧૯૯૬ થી ૨૦૦૦ સુધી હતો. ૯૮-૯૯માં ખુદ એફબીઆઇએ જેને ચેરિટેબલ સોસાયટી ફોર સોશ્યલ વેલફેર (સીએસએસડબલ્યૂ)નો ઉપપ્રમુખ ગણાવ્યો હતો. આ સંસ્થા યમનની ઇમામ યુનિવર્સિટીના વડા અબ્દુલ મજિદ અલ-ઝિન્દાનીએ સ્થાપી હતી અને એ વેશ્યાઓના હિત માટે કામ કરે છે.

સમાજ સેવાના અંચળા હેઠળ આ સંસ્થા આતંકવાદી પ્રવૃત્તિ માટે પૈસા ભેગા કરે છે એવું એફબીઆઇના એજન્ટ બ્રાયન મર્ફીએ કોર્ટને જણાવ્યું હતું. ખરી રસપ્રદ વાત તો હવે આવે છે. ૯-૧૧ના બે આતંકવાદી (નવાફ અલ-હાઝમી અને ખાલિદ અલમિંધર)ને એફબીઆઇ સાથે સીધો સંબંધ હતો એમ એક સાક્ષીએ ૨૦૦૦ની સાલમાં કોર્ટમાં કહ્યું હતું. આ બંને પણ ઐાલાકીના શાગિર્દ હતા અને સાન ડિયેગોમાં મસ્જિદ અલ ઐાલાકીમાં નમાજ પઢવા જતા હતા. આ બંને જણ ઔલાકી સાથે બંધ બારણે બેઠકો યોજતા હતા એટલે એમ માની શકાય કે ઔલાકીને ૯-૧૧ હુમલાની આગોતરી જાણ હતી.

છેલ્લે છેલ્લે ઐાલાકીએ વૉશિંગ્ટનમાં દાર-અલ હિજરાહ મસ્જિદના ઇમામ તરીકે સેવા આપી હતી. આ માણસ અલ કાયદાનો મહત્ત્વનો માણસ હતો અને અમેરિકામાં બેઠાં બેઠાં અમેરિકાને ટાપલાં મારતો હતો છતાં દુનિયાની સૌથી કાબેલ જાસૂસી સંસ્થા ધરાવવાનો ફાંકો રાખતા અમેરિકાને એનાં કાળાં કરતૂતોની ખબર નહોતી, બોલો ! આ વિશે વઘુ ફરી ક્યારેક.

Visualize the news flash all over the world, …Muslim mother is sobbing, ….crying. ….Her babies are killed by Jews and Americans, the whole world is watching live. Hundreds of millions of Muslims all around the world are boiling. They will march through Europe . We will use our women to produce more babies who will in turn be used as Armour/shield. as we say just before beheading kafirs .There is modern warfare. The West will loose.
Islam will rule the world. There is nothing you can do. Even if the per capita GDP of the world drops to half of its present level as a consequence of Islamic laws in place all over the world but still Islam will rule the word.
